SIKKENS CETOL HLSE 10 Litres

Sikkens Cetol HLSe is a weather resistant, transparent and highly water-repellent, stand-alone 3 coat system for exterior timber decoration and protection. Perfect for decking, roof shingles, and outdoor furniture.
It can also be used as a base coat under other Sikkens products such as: Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 plus, Cetol Supernatural, Sikkens Cetol Deck, Sikkens Cetol Deck Slip Resistant, or Sikkens Cetol TGL Gloss plus.
- The stain repels unwanted moisture but still allows the timber to breathe due to its micro-porous structure
- The wood grains remain natural and visible after application
- Long-lasting UV and weather resistance
- Resistant to mould, blistering and peeling
- Can also be used as an interior timber coating (but only in well-ventilated areas)
- Easy application and simple maintenance
- Dries in a satin finish
Applications:
Cetol HLSe can be used as a Finishing coat on the following applications: Exterior softwood and hardwood timber such as outdoor stairs and walks, decks, and outdoor furniture.
Cetol HLSe can be used as a Base coat on the following applications: Exterior softwood and hardwood fascia boards, cladding, doors and gates, and other timber joinery.
Coverage:
- Smooth planed timber surfaces: approximately 12 to 16 sqm. per litre
- Rough, sawn wood surfaces: approximately 4 to 8 sqm. per litre
Number of Coats:
- For a Finishing coat, 3 coats is recommended.
- Only 1 coat is needed if to be used as a base coat or primer.
Preparation
Prior to coating, some new or unseasoned hardwood contain natural tannins that need to be extracted. Some of these hardwoods are Spotted Gum, Jarrah, Merbau/Kwila, Ironbark, and Tallowwood.
These tannins can be extracted naturally over a period of 3-6 months depending on sunlight and other weather exposure. But you can accelerate this process by using Sikkens Cetol Tannin & Oil Remover and then followed by Sikkens Cetol Deck & Wood Cleaner.
Clean Up:
Since this is an oil-based product, Mineral Turps are recommended for cleaning up any surfaces or tools.
